Rita Gyurko, BS

Rita Gyurko is a Clinical Research Coordinator with the Health Decision Sciences Center at Massachusetts General Hospital. Her passion for integrating patient perspectives into clinical care informs her work as a researcher on our team. Through her work in shared decision-making research, she strives to empower patients to take an active role in their care decisions and build meaningful partnerships with their providers and care teams.

Rita is involved in three studies funded by the Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institute (PCORI). The IMPACT study seeks to improve treatment decision-making for patients with aortic stenosis through clinician training and the use of decision aids. The PRIMED-CRC study aims to expand colorectal cancer screening opportunities for adults aged 76 to 85 who may have competing health priorities or face uncertainty regarding screening guidelines. She also contributes to the BREATHE study, which focuses on improving access to resources and support for caregivers of pediatric patients with tracheostomies.

Rita earned her Bachelor of Science in Biology from Tufts University.
