What is Shared Decision Making?

Shared decision making (SDM) is a communication process by which patients and clinicians work together to make optimal health care decisions that align with what matters most to patients. Learn more here.

History

In 2005, MGH established one of the first Shared Decision Making programs in the country, dedicated to promoting use of patient decision aids in routine care. Learn more how about our center was formed and grown here.
