Dr. Valentine is Research Staff at the Health Decision Sciences Center in the General Medicine Division at Massachusetts General Hospital and an Instructor at Harvard Medical School. She joined Dr. Sepucha and team to support several research projects as a post-doctoral researcher from 2019-2021, including the PCORI-funded comparative effectiveness study of physician interventions to assist when making the decision about colorectal cancer screening for older adults.
She is interested in shared decision making, risk communication, the validity of measurements of decision quality and patient preferences, and patient’s reactions to recommendations and guidelines.
She holds a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Missouri State University, a Master of Science in Experimental Psychology from Missouri State University, and a Doctorate of Philosophy in Quantitative Psychology from the University of Missouri.
